Introducing the Catholic Military Connect App
The Apostolat Militaire International, in close collaboration with the international multimedia initiative DeoQuest, conceived by Father Michel Remery, launched an App called Catholic Military Connect (CMC App). The aim of this app is to enable young military personnel worldwide to reflect on life and faith in military service by providing them with this multimedia tool.
In a message to the Apostolat Militaire International, Pope Francis, through Secretary of State H.E. Cardinal Parolin, expresses his awareness that “in these times of adversity, Apostolat Militaire International’s mission to promote peace and support the distribution of humanitarian aid in many parts of the world takes on special importance. In particular, modern technology and social media provide important tools to communicate the message of life, hope and growth in faith, and to make the situations in which military personnel are involved more human and Christian. The Catholic Military Connect App for smartphones will prove particularly useful and meaningful in this regard.”
This initiative allows military personnel to come closer to God and to know and acknowledge Him wherever they are. The Catholic Military Connect app offers users a range of possibilities: answers to military questions, prayers for the military, testimonies, inspiring quotes, and spiritual first aid. Users from member countries can contact an army chaplain and associations directly from the app. Furthermore, Catholic Military Connect gives access to hundreds of questions about life, faith, prayers and devotions in many languages, as well as a link to the Pope’s monthly prayer. The Catholic Military Connect app is currently available in both the Google Play and App stores, for smartphones and tablets, in 8 languages (English, Italian, French, Spanish, Croatian, German, Portuguese and Dutch).
